Portgate -- our security s/b the second question asked
Why? Because the first question s/b who (what American
politicians and their cronies) stand to make money on this
deal. And if it is true the above mentioned group stands to profit
hugely...why even ask the second question as we will never be able to
trust the answer?
Of course it is very true...Here is an excellent Arianna Huffinton article detailing Jack Kemp's support for the deal and his conflict of interest as well as that of Bill Clinton and General Tommy Franks.
Even crusty old Bob Dole is paid to support this deal for God's sake....(making his Viagra commercials look like a pinnacle of integrity). Why is it acceptable for him to pack his golden parachute this way? It is not to me.
Two weeks before the story of Portgate broke, the Jack Abramoff (remember him?) scandal dominated the "news". At the time, the media puppets were wringing their hands about how to dis-empower the US corrupt lobbying system.
Now with Portgate, the granddaddy deal of corrupt lobbying and flat-out conflict of interest among our elected officials, the media has forgotten about the corruption aspect and has us concentrating on the wrong question (that of our security)....because now all the big money needs to do is BS us through the answer via the use of their hugely paid PR firms.
Even IF this deal presents no security threat to the US, it is NOT OK that our elected officials and their cronies MAKE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FROM THEIR POLITICAL DECISIONS.
If American voters are looking to a way to vote out corruption, a list of anyone in office who supports this deal would be a good place to start.
